Daring Greatly | Book Recommendation

Daring Greatly

“When we spend our lives waiting until we’re perfect or bulletproof before we walk into the arena, we ultimately sacrifice relationships and opportunities that may not be recoverable, we squander our precious time, and we turn our backs on our gifts, those unique contributions that only we can make.

Perfect and bulletproof are seductive, but they don’t exist in the human experience. We must all walk into the arena, whatever it may be-a new relationship, an important meeting, our creative process, or a difficult family conversation-with the courage and willingness to engage. Rather than sitting on the sidelines hurling judgment and advice, we must dare to show up and let ourselves be seen. This is vulnerability. This is daring greatly.”

This is an excerpt from the introduction to Brene Brown’s latest book, Daring Greatly. I cannot recommend this book more! It is an incredible look at shame and how vulnerability transforms the way we live and love.I know I’ve talked about Brene a lot lately, but her talks and books are completely transforming me.

I hope you read it! Happy Friday!

Also, here is a great Pin quoting her work.

Ruth, I’ve been reading and recommending Brene’s books for YEARS now. The Gift of Imperfection changed my life and I think that every woman (also every man) should read it. LOVE that you are one of her fans too!!
