A Mustache-Themed Party
Michael entered a new decade this weekend and nothing would have welcomed him into his 30s better than a surprise mustache-themed party. I only allow him to grow a mustache during “Movember” & he seems to have latched onto the idea that mustaches = manliness.
Event planning is not necessarily my strongest gift, but I was determined to make his ‘always wanted’ surprise party come true! 40 guests somehow kept the party a secret (with some close calls, Micah uhem)-and hid with mustaches ON while Michael and I pulled up to the restaurant. I blindfolded Michael our entire car ride and told him we were going out of town!
His sister Jordan coordinated the big surprise. Look at Michael’s face when he saw everyone jump up and yell “SURPRISE!”
Here we come! He had no clue.
Michael’s sister Jordan and I. Mustaches suit us, don’t ya think?
Birthday boy could not be enjoying himself more! Notice: far right.
Even the balloons had facial hair.
Michael with his co-workers-Bobby and Shane. Too much!
Look at this gorgeous cake! Nashville friends: make sure to order your next cake from her! Darlene’s Kakes. (She’s at Fox’s Donut Den in Green Hills).
Oh yes. This actually happened. Gross.
Even baby Brennan loved his mustache!
Michael and I are so grateful for our friends! We stayed up late after the party talking about how much we enjoyed seeing everyone & how thankful we are for such great friends. We love Nashville! And birthdays. And maybe even mustaches:)

The party looks great, looking to hold a similar party for my friends, where did you purchase the supplies for the event? I love the mustaches on the stick and on the balloons.
Thanks!!
Hi Alex, I purchased the mustaches at a local party store and ordered the mustaches on sticks off Etsy. I want to see pictures when you have your party!
Happy belated birthday Michael! God surely blessed you with a good wife.Good Job Ruthie….you are so creative by the way. I love this.
Thanks, Jess! I’m not used to hearing the word ‘creative’ in reference to me-so it made my day!
Good job

Hi Hanna,
Happy Birthday to your son. I got the balloons at a local store in Nashville. But I’m sure Party City would have green & blue balloons.
Thanks!
