New Site & Easter Pictures

Hi Friends & Blog-Followers!

I’m thrilled with my new website. Hopefully, you will find it easy to navigate & calming with the airy, open feel. I do hope that you are still subscribed, but if you usually get my posts via email and did not please subscribe using the link on the right.

We had a great first Easter together. Since Michael works at a church, we volunteered on Saturday at the egg hunt extravaganza. I will think twice before raising my hand to help out on Easter again, because while I was in charge of the 30 ft. blow up slide-IT TOPPLED OVER. Just imagine kids falling from the sky & parents running frantically. I caught one little girl mid-air debating whether or not to drop her & catch this little Korean boy holding on for dear life screaming his head off (he will need therapy).  What a disaster. Michael promptly took over. No one was hurt-but it was close. Whew.

We had such a fun Easter weekend. It was “little Ruthie’s” birthday (2 years old) so I spent hours with her outside one night exploring & the next day was her big party! I started babysitting her when she was 6 months old, so it’s been fun to see her grow up. She’s the only person who is allowed to call me “Big Ruthie”.

Look at our great group of Nashville friends! We had Easter lunch with all these great families. It’s usually hard not to want kids if everyone around you has multiples, but we were thankful are for a few more years with peace and quiet around our house.

Me with my little buddy for the day:)

I love the heart for adoption! 3 kids adopted from Uganda and one little Asian girl. The two African kids on the right are twins. I almost cried talking to the mom who now has triplet 2 year olds (the Asian girl and the two African kids on the right) and three older kids. She was so humble & inspiring to watch with her kids. Amazing picture of what our Dad has done for us-adopted us as Sons and Daughters. Michael and I are hoping to adopt one day from Asia-hopefully a little Yi baby. (Yi is a people group in China that I worked with-see here for more).

And it wouldn’t be Easter without multiple cakes! (My lemon cake only took me 3+ hours to bake-and Michael had to leave the house I made such a mess:). He is Risen! Hallelujah!

Lemon Cake Recipe can be found here.

Amazing….I see FUN written all over…okay apart from where the kids are falling…wah! That must have been scary. Glad no one got hurt.

I love the new blog, the slide makes it easier for one to find older posts. The cakes!!! YUM!!

Love the kids photo. Uganda is our neignbouring country…so how about the Deans considering coming to Kenya to adopt (in addition to the chinese baby that is) a Kenyan baby? With that a larger part of East Africa will be represented in Nashville(Gosh, I’m so optimistic) :)

Anyway, I hope to read more from you and be blessed a lot my friend!
